The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be launched in China tomorrow i.e. Tuesday as the company’s next-generation flagship smartphone. The series consists of two models – Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro. The handsets are confirmed to be the world’s first smartphones to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Ahead of its launch, a company official confirmed some of the specifications of both devices, such as the Xiaomi 15 Pro model, which will have a 5X telephoto camera and a 6,100mAh battery.

In a series of posts on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi revealed that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will have a 6,100mAh battery, 38% better than the Xiaomi 14 Pro, with a power density of 850W/L. Earlier, the Xiaomi 14 Pro had a 4,800mAh battery.
Also notable is the handset will be equipped with a 2K micro-curved screen, with a maximum brightness of up to 3,200nits, through the use of customized bright M9 material, and its structure 1.38 mm. The light-emitting material is said to reduce overall energy consumption by 10%. The Xiaomi 15 Pro model will also benefit from a 5X periscope camera with a 10X lossless zoom feature. Both phones will have Leica branding on their cameras, which was already seen in a teaser.
Both the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro handsets will be powered by the company’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with Hyper Core technology. This integration claims 45% better performance than its predecessor, while said power consumption will be 52% lower. The company showed off the feature’s power figures with a short video, where it ran a large 3D game at 2k resolution for 11 hours. According to the company, the Xiaomi 15 series can maintain a frame rate of 59.4 frames per second (fps) and a temperature of 42.1 degrees Celsius.
